2025 Tony Rivera Memorial Scholarship 

Recipients: Samuel Wagner and Elizabeth Merlo

Congratulations to Samuel Wagner and Elizabeth Merlo, the proud recipients of the 3rd Annual Tony Rivera Memorial Scholarship. Both outstanding students graduated with Concord High School's Class of 2025 and were dedicated members of the Concord Swim Team and the National Honor Society. Their commitment to academic excellence and countless hours of community service truly set them apart

 

Samuel aspires to own a business that provides adaptive equipment and inclusive designs tailored for children with disabilities. His vision includes continuing collaborations with disability advocacy organizations and adaptive sports programs. Additionally, he is committed to pursuing his passion for rowing and staying actively involved in competitive rowing programs. 

 

Elizabeth aspires to become a Sports Medicine Doctor, specializing in Pediatric Sports Medicine, where she can dedicate her work to helping children recover from sports-related injuries. She also aspires to establish her own swim club, where she can both teach children how to swim and coach them in competitive swimming.   

 

Both students truly embodied A Hero's Legacy - The Tony Rivera Foundation's core values through their leadership and dedication to their swim teams. Whether motivating teammates to push beyond their limits or upholding the principles of integrity and excellence as members of the National Honor Society, they consistently demonstrated character and commitment. Their actions reflect the very essence of the Foundation's values: Courage, Integrity, Respect, Resilience, Service, and Loyalty — qualities that pave the way for future success and lasting impact!

2024 Tony Rivera Memorial Scholarship 

Recipient: Charlie Bramble

Congratulations to Charlie Bramble, who secured the 2nd Tony Rivera Memorial Scholarship. He graduated Concord High School with the Class of 2024, being a member of the Swim, Lacrosse and Cross Country Teams. He also was a National Honor Society Member in 2024, while spending countless hours volunteering within his community.

 

Charlie exemplifies many of the Foundation's core values with his relentless commitment to lead by example.  He often times sacrificed in order to ensure his teammates had ample opportunity to experience success. It is in his ability to inspire others and the gratitude he has created within his interactions with others, that has shown his Courage, Integrity, Respect, Resilience, Service and Loyalty....All essential core values of A Hero's Legacy - The Tony Rivera Foundation!

Congratulations, Stephen Romeo, who was awarded the first annual Tony Rivera Memorial Scholarship. He graduated from Concord High School in Wilmington, DE with the Class of 2023 as a member of the swim team, and was recognized for showing strong leadership skills towards his peers. Stephen represents the core values for which the Tony Rivera Foundation - A Hero's Legacy stands for:
